Reporting and Feedback

Parents receive student reports from the PLC Sydney Futures Extension Centre at the end of each semester.

These reports can provide insight and useful feedback on the students progress towards achieving his/her goals.

ENTRY INTO OUR SATURDAY COURSES

Our comprehensive testing procedure provides an overview of a child’s learning ability and style, and assists in determining the program’s suitability for that child.

The profile is used to develop individual learning plans and to assess progress on an on-going basis. If a psychometric test has already been conducted by an educational psychologist, the report will be reviewed by the PLC Sydney Futures Extension Centre prior to an offer being extended to the family. An interview may also be required. Where the report is more than two years old, further assessment may be required.

There are two forms of diagnostic assessment undertaken at the PLC Sydney Futures Extension Centre: full psychometric profiling using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Australian – 5th edition (WISC-V) and also the WIAT Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - 3rd edition (WIATIII).

WISC-V A registered psychologist administers IQ assessments using the WISC-V. The assessments can be used for making informed schooling choices, and is required for consideration for entry into our Saturday Enrichment Classes.

The assessment procedure includes:

  • Parent interview
  • Observation and psychological assessment of the child
  • Parent meeting to discuss the results and recommendations

Assessment will incur a fee of $850 and includes a full written report. An appointment is made with the parents to discuss the results of the assessment, and recommendations which may arise from this. This generally occurs approximately a fortnight after the assessment.

For further information, please email the PLC Extension Centre or call (+612) 9704 5634.
