There are two forms of diagnostic assessment undertaken at the PLC Sydney Futures Extension Centre: full psychometric profiling using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Australian – 5th edition (WISC-V) and also the WIAT Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - 3rd edition (WIATIII).
WISC-V A registered psychologist administers IQ assessments using the WISC-V. The assessments can be used for making informed schooling choices, and is required for consideration for entry into our Saturday Enrichment Classes.

Assessment will incur a fee of $990 and includes a full written report. An appointment is made with the parents to discuss the results of the assessment, and recommendations which may arise from this. This generally occurs approximately a fortnight after the assessment.
Our comprehensive testing procedure provides an overview of a child’s learning ability and style, and assists in determining the program’s suitability for that child.
The profile is used to develop individual learning plans and to assess progress on an ongoing basis. If a psychometric test has already been conducted by an educational psychologist, the report will be reviewed by the PLC Sydney Futures Centre prior to an offer being extended to the family. An interview may also be required. Where the report is more than two years old, further assessment may be required.
Parents receive student reports from the PLC Sydney Futures Centre at the end of each term of the Saturday classes.
These reports can provide insight and useful feedback on the students progress towards achieving his/her goals.
