2024 designartawards: Jasmine Gifford Stephanie Ottavio and Mr Stewart.

Following the presentations, guest speaker ex-student Mrs Stephanie Ottavio (nee Kapetanellis, 2013) addressed the gathering. She spoke about her studies in architecture at UNSW and Florence University of the Arts and her accomplishments since then, setting up the architecture firm SjO Architects and experiencing the whirlwind of competing on the television series The Block . She spoke fondly of the time spent at The Croydon where she completed HSC Visual Art with flying colours, her Body of Work nominated and exhibited at Hazelhurst Gallery for Artexpress in 2014. Reflecting on her studies and her experience in creative industries since, Stephanie spoke about the vital importance of grounding her creative endeavours with a concept, something she felt she learned at PLC. In their studies and beyond, she encouraged the girls in attendance not to doubt themselves along the way.

Jasmine thanked Stephanie for her participation at the event and presented a gift in appreciation on behalf of the students and staff at PLC Sydney. Ms Gair closed the proceedings gratefully, acknowledging the students for contributing their works for display and The Croydon staff for their assistance in bringing the exhibition together.

The exhibition continues at Adelaide Perry Gallery weekdays 8.30 am – 4.00 pm.
