All-Day Workshop: This workshop is for students who need consolidation and revision in the following areas of:
Computation with integers and indices
- Order of operations with positive and negative integers
- The Cartesian plane
- Squares, square roots, cubes and cube roots
- The zero index and index laws
Using fractions, decimals and percentages
- Converting between fraction, decimal, percentage and ratio
- Using fractions and percentages to compare two quantities
- Computation with positive and negative fractions, decimals and percentages
- Problem-solving with fractions, decimals and percentages
Algebraic techniques
- Equivalent algebraic expressions
- Substitution involving negative numbers and mixed operations
- Solving equations systematically
- Using equations to solve problems
- Measurement and computation of length, perimeter and area
Perimeter and Area of basic geometric shapes
- Problem-solving with compound shapes
- Investigating the Pythagoras’ theorem
- Transformations of the shapes on the Cartesian plane
