HSC English (Standard & Advanced) Mock Trial Exam – Year 12

Paper 1: Texts and Human Experiences

Focused on Paper 1, Section 1: Unseen Texts and Comprehension, this workshop has been designed as a mock HSC Trial English examination for the Common Module, Texts and Human Experiences.

Students will review the Common Module rubric before completing a traditional-style Section 1 examination under timed conditions, including reading time. As this section primarily assesses analytical skills rather than content knowledge, it is often considered one of the most challenging components of the English HSC Trial examinations.

Following the mock exam, the teacher will work through the paper in detail, explaining the reasoning behind high-scoring responses and what is required to achieve full marks. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss the texts, questions and sample responses throughout the review session.
