Stretching Minds Through Strategy, Logic, and Creative Thinking

This dynamic and intellectually rich workshop challenges students to approach problems in new and imaginative ways. Through a curated selection of logic puzzles, riddles, lateral thinking challenges, and collaborative problem-solving tasks, students will strengthen both their critical thinking and cognitive flexibility.

Designed specifically for high-potential learners, this session encourages:

  • Strategic reasoning and logical deduction
  • Pattern recognition and abstract thinking
  • Collaborative discussion and team-based challenge solving
  • The development of resilience, persistence, and mental agility

While the activities are playful and engaging, each one is grounded in evidence-based strategies for developing higher-order thinking skills and fostering a growth mindset.

Day 2 Workshop: Beyond Laughter and Loss: How Comedy & Tragedy Still Shape the Stories We Love

Why do some stories make us cry and others make us laugh out loud? And why do the best ones do both?

In this creative holiday workshop, we’ll explore how the ancient genres of Comedy and Tragedy are still alive and well today — in the books we read, the shows we binge, and the stories we write ourselves. From Shakespeare to soap operas, rom-coms to true crime, you’ll discover how these timeless forms continue to shape modern storytelling.

We’ll:

  • Unpack why comedy isn’t just for laughs — and why tragedy isn’t always sad.
  • Explore how modern writers blend genres to surprise and move us.
  • Learn to create characters and plots with real emotional impact.
  • Write and workshop your own stories using classic tools in bold new ways.

You’ll analyse, reflect, laugh, and write with purpose — developing your voice while having fun with others who love stories as much as you do.

Perfect for curious minds who love writing, theatre, stories, or just asking “why do we care about characters at all?”
