Two workshops will be run over two days:
Artificial intelligence recommends the videos we watch, unlocks our phones and can even predict how we might finish a sentence. In this engaging, hands-on holiday workshop, students will explore how AI works, how it learns and what happens when it gets things wrong.
Students will train and test their own AI models, investigate how computers learn from examples, and discover why AI systems trained on incomplete or unbalanced data can produce unreliable outcomes. Through practical activities and experimentation, they will explore the relationship between data, training and AI decision-making.
Along the way, students will develop skills in computational thinking, data analysis, problem solving and critical thinking, before applying their learning to design an AI system with fairness in mind.
Designed for students who enjoy technology, puzzles and discovering how things work, this dynamic workshop provides an opportunity to explore AI while developing a more critical and responsible understanding of this increasingly relevant technology.
Step into the world of performance with an engaging workshop designed to help students build confidence, communicate with clarity and embrace their individual strengths on stage.
Through purposeful drama games, performance exercises and team-building activities, students will be encouraged to express themselves, step beyond their comfort zone and develop confidence in situations where effective communication and self-expression are essential.
Students will explore a range of performance scenarios, including auditions, improvisation and rehearsed drama scenes, providing practical opportunities to develop stage presence, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, creativity and confidence in front of an audience.
This workshop is designed to support both students who may find it challenging to express themselves and those who naturally enjoy the spotlight, allowing each student to develop from their own starting point. Throughout the workshop, students will be encouraged to perform in front of their peers, take creative risks and recognise and celebrate each other’s strengths in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment. Combining drama, communication and performance, this workshop provides an engaging opportunity for students to strengthen their confidence, self-expression, creativity and presentation skills while discovering the enjoyment and personal growth that can come from performing.
