Holiday Program for Gifted Students – Years 2 & 3

Two workshops will be run over two days:

  • Day 1 Workshop: Creative Electronics: Build Your Own Smart Robot – 15 July 2026
  • Day 2 Workshop: Mystery Films, Action & More! – 16 July 2026

Day 1 Workshop: Creative Electronics: Build Your Own Smart Robot

Go beyond the classroom in this exciting hands-on robotics workshop. Students will build a real working robot from scratch, exploring how motors, sensors, circuits and coding work together.

Using beginner-friendly block-based programming, students will teach their robot to move, respond and navigate around obstacles. Along the way, they will test ideas, solve problems and debug their designs like real engineers.

A fun, practical and highly engaging workshop for students who love building, experimenting and discovering how technology works.

Venue: PLC Sydney Science Laboratory

Day: 15 July 2026

Time: 9.00 am – 3.00 pm

Cost: $160 for each Workshop (Day 1 or Day 2)

Or $290 for both workshops (Days 1 and 2)

Day 2 Workshop: Mystery Films, Action & More!

This exciting filmmaking workshop is designed for both new and returning students who are ready to explore the creative world of movie genres.

Students will dive into a range of film styles, including action, mystery, comedy, documentary and adventure, discovering how each genre uses different storytelling techniques, performance styles, camera choices and creative effects to capture an audience’s imagination.

Whether students have attended a previous filmmaking workshop or are joining us for the first time, they will be guided through the key skills needed to plan, perform and create their own short film. Returning students will have the opportunity to extend their skills, while new students will be supported to build confidence and take part fully.

In the afternoon, students will put their ideas into action as they collaborate to plan, shoot and star in their own genre-based short films. This dynamic, hands-on workshop is perfect for young filmmakers who love storytelling, acting, creativity and bringing big ideas to life on screen.

Venue: PLC Sydney Studio Theatre

Cost: $160.00 for each Workshop (Day 1 or Day 2)

Please note any medical or behavioural issues that staff should know about here. This information will only be shared with the teaching staff to help them cater for your child's learning needs.

Please choose your program and complete payment below. Holiday workshops cost $160 for one day or $290 for both days. Workshops require a minimum enrolment number to proceed, and places are limited. Refunds or credits are not available after enrolments close.
