Holiday Program for Gifted Students – Years 2 & 3

Two workshops will be run over two days:

  • Day 1 Workshop: EdisonRobotics – From Introduction to Real Coding! – Wednesday 21 January 2026
  • Day 2 Workshop: Auditioning With Confidence – Thursday 22 January 2026

Day 1 Workshop: Edison Robotics – From Introduction to Real Coding!

Our previous Edison workshop introduced students to the robot itself — how it moves, makes sounds, follows built-in programs and responds to simple barcodes. This time, we are excited to take the next step with real, hands-on coding using Edison’s brilliant non-screen Card Coding system.

Instead of running pre-made programs, students will design their own, combining movement, lights, sound, loops, and simple sensor responses to create genuine robotic behaviours. It is an engaging, highly visual way for young learners to explore programming concepts while seeing their ideas come alive.

The workshop remains beginner-friendly and fully adaptable.

If your child joined us last time, they will enjoy a new set of challenges and deeper learning opportunities.

If they are joining for the first time, they will be guided through the fundamentals with plenty of support.

Activities throughout the day are chosen to suit the group’s confidence, curiosity and pace, ensuring that every child feels included, challenged and successful — whether they are continuing their robotics journey or starting fresh.

A fun, creative and inspiring step into the world of real robotics and coding — perfect for curious minds in Years 2–3.

Day 2 Workshop: Auditioning with Confidence

In this program, students will learn how to make a strong first impression when auditioning for a role, whether it’s for a stage show or a job interview! Through acting techniques and drama activities, students will focus on what makes them unique and harness those unique quirks in an audition situation. Students will work together in pairs or trios and perform an audition scene provided by the teacher. Each student will get the opportunity to practice an audition scenario and feel better equipped to tackle a real audition in the future.
