Our Holiday Maths and English Course for Years 5–6 is designed to help students strengthen essential skills, build confidence, and prepare for the increasing academic expectations of upper primary school.
This engaging holiday program provides a valuable opportunity for students to consolidate key concepts, fill learning gaps, and extend their abilities in a supportive small-group environment. Through focused instruction, guided practice and interactive activities, students will develop stronger foundations in both Maths and English while gaining the confidence to approach schoolwork with greater independence.
In English, students will focus on improving reading comprehension, expanding vocabulary, and developing stronger written expression. They will learn how to read more deeply, identify key ideas, respond to texts with greater clarity, and use language more effectively in their own writing.
In Maths, students will revise important number skills, including addition and subtraction of fractions, multiplication fluency and problem-solving strategies. They will also be introduced to early algebraic thinking, helping them become more comfortable with patterns, unknown values and the type of reasoning needed for high school readiness.
With personalised guidance from an experienced educator, students will be supported at their individual level while also being encouraged to stretch themselves. The course is ideal for students who would benefit from extra support, as well as those who are ready to extend their skills and get ahead.
By the end of the program, students will have strengthened their academic foundations, improved their confidence, and developed practical strategies they can take back into the classroom.
