English & Maths Workshop – Years 5 & 6

Help your child strengthen their academic foundations, extend their thinking and prepare confidently for the transition to secondary school through an engaging and academically enriching English and Mathematics holiday program.

Designed specifically for students in Years 5–6, this course focuses on developing the increasingly sophisticated knowledge, skills and learning strategies students require as they progress towards secondary education.

In English, students will strengthen advanced reading comprehension, vocabulary, textual analysis, persuasive techniques, creative writing, grammar and the construction of clear, well-structured written responses. In Mathematics, students will consolidate and extend their understanding of fractions, decimals, percentages, number operations, measurement, geometry and multi-step problem solving, while developing mathematical reasoning and the ability to apply concepts with accuracy and confidence.

Through interactive activities, purposeful discussions, puzzles, investigations and collaborative challenges, students will be encouraged to think critically and independently, apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems, articulate their reasoning and communicate their ideas with greater clarity and confidence.

The holiday setting provides a refreshing alternative to the everyday classroom, combining meaningful academic development with an engaging, collaborative and enjoyable learning experience. Students will have the opportunity to consolidate essential skills, challenge and extend their thinking, and build greater confidence in both English and Mathematics while developing a positive approach to the next stage of their learning.
